Drosophila Pole Cell Invagination

Click on the picture to see the movie, or down load the single frame.

This movie shows the migration of the pole cells or germ cell precursors during gastrulation. The pole cells migrate from the posterior region of the embryo towards the anterior end and are invaginated into the interior of the embryo. The outlines of cells are visualized with GFP-moesin, kindly providedby Dan Kiehart.
