We study the structure and function of plants with a focus on the plant vascular tissue.  What is the adaptive significance of one trait over another and what are the consequences of this trait for the evolution of ecophysiological performance in modern or ancient flora?  How does physiology relate to biogeography in current and past climates?  These are the types of questions we’re looking to answer.
