My research program is diverse and multifaceted, with four major branches: 1) the biology of invasive species, 2) ecological and evolutionary dynamics of novel plant-pathogen interactions, 3) anthropogenic influences on the evolution of domesticated species, and 4) the conservation of rare plant species in California.

I believe in the importance of outreach and in fostering inquiry-based learning in K-12 science curriculum.  See our SCWIBLES GK-12 program for more details.
