I am currently a research assistant in the Doak Lab, having just completed my undergraduate degree at UCSC and a senior thesis in conjuction with Ingrid Parker and Cynthia Hayes in the Parker Lab. My interests seem to be changing every day, but currently I am interested in the junction between population genetics and population viability analysis, specifically how S alleles for plants, MHC alleles for animals, and inbreeding depression can affect a population's chance for recovery. Other interests include the genetics governing the origin, persistence and inevitable extinction of asexual species, as well as reproductive tradeoffs in plants. I am also now working with Myra on demographic modeling for albatross.
